9A Unit 4 TV programmes Period Two Reading I Teaching goals: 1.Knowledge goals: 1）To understand key vocabulary related to TV programmes. 2）To get the general ideas of the statements on four programmes. 3）To identify statements as true or false based on the reading passage 4）To match students preferences and schedules to TV programmes. 2. Ability goals: 1) Try to understand the basic information about the four TV programmes that appear in the reading . 2) Be able to describle other TV programmes in life simplely by using some expressing ways. 3. Emotion goals: 1）Study how to deal with the relationship between watching TV and study hard well. 2）Tell the students that our hometown is becoming better and better and the should love our hometown. Teaching important and difficult points: 1. Important point: 1) Understand the important words, phrases and stentences appreared in the reading. 2) Be able to understand the main contents and characteristics appeared in this reading. 2. Difficult points: Answer some questions about the reading. Teaching prepration: multi-media. and a recorder Teaching procedures: Step One ：Revision 1.Go over the names of the different kinds of TV programmes that we learned in the last class. 2.Ask some students to talk about : “Which kind of TV programme does he/she like best ? Please give an example and say something about it.” to lead to the new lesson. Step Two ：presentation 1.Check the results of students’ preview by asking them to complete four simple tables from the four passages in the reading. 2.Use the websites from the internet to teach the new words and phrases: 3.Listen to the tape and repeat the words and expressions after it; Step Three ：Practice 1.Show the video of the first passage to the students. 2. Ask and answer some questions about the first passage. 3. Listen to and repeat the first passage. 4.Tell the sentences T or F about the first passage. Then do like this one by one about the rest three passages. Step Four: Consolidation Finish Part B2 on Page 66. Step Seven: Free talk Let the students to talk about how to achieve a balance between studying hard and watching TV and then ask some of them to report their opions to the class. Step Five: Homework and blackboard design 1.Homework: Ex.1 , Please read the reading after the tape for three times at home. Ex.2, Please finish Part B and Part C on Pages 66-67 after class.
