實用詞匯 別沒大沒小的act ones age

當有人做出過于幼稚的舉動時，會被別人說：“別沒大沒小的”，意思是讓這個人舉止成熟點，別鬧笑話。那怎樣用英語將這句話表達得簡潔準確呢？

　　我們不妨舉個例子：

　　Mr. Brown was playing tag with the children at the party. Then Mrs. Brown said, "Henry, act your age," and he stopped. 布朗先生在聚會上和孩子們玩捉迷藏，只聽布朗太太說：“亨利，別沒大沒小的。”于是布朗先生不再玩了。

　　在上面這個例子中，act one's age就是指“舉止與年齡相稱”，有時也用be one's age來表示，用來形容孩子氣。來看下面這個例子：

　　We children enjoyed our uncle because he didn't always act his age. 我們孩子們喜歡叔叔因為他時常很孩子氣。

　　但act one's age的翻譯常要結合語境。在下面這句話里，act one's age就不能說成“沒大沒小的”。

　　Bobby cried when he broke his kite. Mother said: "You are a big boy now. Act your age." 波比弄壞了他的風箏，哭起來。他媽媽說：“你已經是個大孩子了，就該像個大孩子樣，別動不動就哭哭啼啼的。”
