1.We tend to think of the decades immediately following World War II as a time of prosperity and growth， with soldiers returning home by the millions， going off to college on the G. I. Bill and lining up at the marriage bureaus. （2011. 閱讀。 Text 3）
【譯文】我們一般認為二戰之后的幾十年是繁榮和成長的時期，數以百萬計的士兵返回家園，按照軍人安置法案去上了大學，并登記結婚。
【析句】多重復合句，主句為We tend to think of……as……，immediately following WWII是現在分詞作定語修飾decades；with soldiers returning……，going off……and lining up……為伴隨結構。
2.During the Depression and the war， Americans had learned to live with less， and that restraint， in combination with the postwar confidence in the future， made small， efficient housing positively stylish. （2011. 閱讀。Text 3）
【譯文】在大蕭條和戰爭期間，美國人早就學會了在空間有限的房子中居住，美國人民的這種自我約束以及戰后對未來生活的自信，使得小而有效的房子成為流行趨勢。
【析句】本復合句由and連接兩個具有并列關系的簡單句構成，第一句為Americans had learned to live with less……，第二句為that restraint made small……stylish，注意in combination with the postwar……不是主句。
3.The phrase “less is more” was actually first popularized by a German， the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe， who like other people associated with the Bauhaus， a school of design， emigrated to the United States before World War II and took up posts at American architecture schools. （2011. 閱讀。 Text 3）
【譯文】�！案倬褪歉唷钡恼f法原先實際上首先是因一位名叫Ludwig Mies van der Rohe的德國建筑師才得以流行起來的。他和其他建筑大師一樣也來自德國包豪斯設計學院。他們在二戰前移民到美國，并在美國各建筑學院任教就職。
【析句】多重復合句，主句為The phrase was actually first popularized by a German，the architect ……是同位語，who associated with……，emigrated to……and took up……是存在多個并列動詞的定語從句修飾the architect Ludwig Mies……。
