故事發生在前作芝加哥終極決戰四年后，自由人(Autobots，一譯博派/汽車人)與狂派(Decepticons，一譯狂派/霸天虎)從地球銷聲匿跡，而人類也在斷壁殘垣的廢墟中開始了新生。然而，一群手握大權的商人聯合天才科學家，意欲通過那場入侵打破地球上的技術壁壘，研發出他們實則難以駕馭的全新技術。與此同時，地球也遭受到了一個古老而強大的變形金剛的威脅恫嚇，關乎“自由與奴役”的正邪史詩決戰，正一觸即發。
Transformers: Age of Extinction is an upcoming 2014 American science fiction action film based on the Transformers franchise. It is the fourth installment of the live-action Transformers film series and stars Mark Wahlberg in the lead role. A sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the film takes place four years after the invasion of Chicago. Like its predecessors, the film is directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The screenplay is written by Ehren Kruger, who served as screenwriter since Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This is the first film in the series to feature an entirely new cast and the first to feature the Dinobots. Returning Transformers include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Brains. The film is set for release on June 27, 2014, in IMAX and 3D。
