雅虎CEO楊致遠(yuǎn)的辭職信

　　致雅虎全體員工：

　　Iwanted to address all of you on the news we've just announced. the board of directors and I have agreed to initiate a succession process for the ceo role of yahoo. roy bostock, our chairman of the board, is leading the effort to identify and assess potential candidates for consideration by the full board. the board will be evaluating and considering both internal and external candidates and has retained heidrick and struggles to help in this effort.

　　我想通知大家我們剛剛宣布的一條消息：我與董事會(huì)成員達(dá)成協(xié)議，將啟動(dòng)雅虎繼任ceo的甄選程序。我們的董事會(huì)主席roy bostock先生將充分考慮全體董事會(huì)成員的意見，確定并評(píng)估繼任ceo的候選人。董事會(huì)將評(píng)估并考慮公司內(nèi)外部的合適人選，并已委托海德思哲國(guó)際咨詢公司協(xié)助。

　　I will be participating in the search for my successor, andI will continue as ceo until the board selects a new ceo. once a successor is named, I iwill return to my previous role as chief yahoo and continue to serve as a director on the board.

　　我也將參與尋找我的繼任者，在董事會(huì)推選出新的ceo前，我將繼續(xù)擔(dān)任ceo之職。一旦繼任者人選確定，我將回歸“雅虎酋長(zhǎng)” 頭銜，以董事會(huì)成員的身份繼續(xù)為雅虎服務(wù)。

　　Last june, I accepted the board's request that I  assume the ceo role to restructure and reposition the company as a whole in order to more effectively meet the fast-changing needs of both users and partners. since taking on the ceo role, i have had an ongoing dialogue with the board about succession timing. thanks in large measure to your tireless efforts, we have created a more open, competitive yahoo! and we believe the time is now right to transition to a new ceo who can take the company to the next level.

　　去年6月，我接受了董事會(huì)的請(qǐng)求重新?lián)�任ceo一職，全面組織公司的重建和重新定位，希望能更加有效的滿足消費(fèi)者和合作伙伴迅速變化的需求。自接任ceo 之職以來(lái)，我就與董事會(huì)就繼任時(shí)機(jī)展開了持續(xù)對(duì)話。感謝你們的不懈努力，我們創(chuàng)造了一個(gè)更開放、更有競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的雅虎。我們也相信，現(xiàn)在是時(shí)候?qū)⒐�司交給一位新的ceo，讓他帶領(lǐng)公司邁上新臺(tái)階。

　　Despite the external environment we face, the fact remains that yahoo! is now a significantly different company that is stronger in many ways than it was just 18 months ago. this only makes it all the more essential that we manage this opportunity to leverage the progress up to this point as effectively as possible. i strongly believe that having transformed our platform and better aligned costs and revenues, we have a unique window for the right ceo to take ownership over the next wave of mission-critical decisions facing the company.盡管我們面臨著艱難的外部環(huán)境，但事實(shí)卻是，雅虎與18個(gè)月前有著顯著不同，現(xiàn)在的雅虎在很多方面都變得更強(qiáng)大。因此，我們更有必要利用現(xiàn)在的機(jī)會(huì)使公司的運(yùn)營(yíng)更有效。我堅(jiān)信，通過(guò)平臺(tái)的轉(zhuǎn)變、成本與收入的更好梳理，我們能為新任ceo提供一個(gè)獨(dú)特的窗口，以便他能夠更好的接管雅虎，在未來(lái)為公司制定出關(guān)鍵性的決策。

　　All of you know that i have always, and will always bleed purple. i will always do what i think is right for this great company. while this step will be an adjustment for all of us, i know it's the right one. i look forward to updating you on this process as soon as the board has developments to share, and will continue to do everything i can to make yahoo! fulfill its full potential.
